Spoilt for Choice: Outdoor Photoshoot Locations in Gold Coast & Brisbane
Living and working as a photographer on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane, we are truly spoilt for choice. From golden beaches to lush rainforests, stunning waterways, scenic parklands, and even vibrant cityscapes—there’s no shortage of breathtaking backdrops to work with. Whether it’s the wild ocean breeze, cascading waterfalls, or colourful urban graffiti, the variety here is nothing short of incredible.
But here’s the thing: with so many epic locations available, it’s easy to overlook the beauty in the simple, quiet corners of our world.
The Beauty in the Unseen
For me, I love the challenge of finding beauty in places most wouldn’t think twice about. You might ask, “Why bother when you have access to all these amazing spots?” And my answer is simple—because it keeps me sharp.
It pushes me creatively and builds my skill set. When I’m in a not-so-ideal location for a job, I know exactly how to work with what’s around me—pulling every trick out of my camera bag! It’s easy to create a stunning image in a dream location. But creating something truly beautiful in an unexpected place? That’s where the magic happens.
Top Outdoor Locations I Love Shooting At:
Gold Coast:
Tallebudgera Creek – crystal clear water and lush green surrounds.
Burleigh Hill & National Park – coastal cliffs and forest trails.
Currumbin Alley – surf vibes with stunning sunsets.
Miami Marketta (for an urban twist) – colourful murals and industrial charm.
Federation Walk Coastal Reserve – quieter bushland-meets-beach location.
Brisbane:
Kangaroo Point Cliffs – incredible views of the city skyline.
Roma Street Parklands – tropical gardens and open space.
Powerhouse & New Farm Park – artsy textures and beautiful greenery.
South Bank Arbour – bougainvillea-covered walkways and modern urban design.
Wynnum Mangrove Boardwalk – peaceful nature walkways with golden light.
While these locations are undeniably beautiful, I also love the challenge of turning a plain alleyway, a nondescript carpark, or an overgrown field into something extraordinary. It’s all about perspective, light, and a little creativity.
So whether you’re after a dreamy beach vibe, urban edge, or something more unexpected—I’ve got you covered. And trust me, sometimes the best stories are told in the most unlikely places.
